Frequently asked questions
How is a weighted grade calculated?
Multiply each score by its weight, add the results, then divide by the total of the weights. Scores of 90% (weight 20), 80% (weight 30) and 70% (weight 50) give (90×20 + 80×30 + 70×50) ÷ 100 = 77%.
Do the weights have to add up to 100?
No. The calculator divides by the total weight you entered, so weights of 1, 2 and 2 work as well as 20, 40 and 40.
